The woman faces a choice between accepting an advertising job in another city and entering family business, with an eye to someday managing it when her father retired.The first choice offers her immediate financial independence ,since the starting salary appears to be quite high. It also give her the chance to live away from her family for the first time in her life. On the other hand, choosing to work his father would make the family very happy. furthermore, it almost certainly guarantees that she could be running her own company within few years, probably while she was still 20’s. This last point is the deciding factor for me in making my recommendation. Even though the advertising agency’s offer is attractive, the possibility of her advancing to a high management position soon is very low. She’d probably been working very long hours in an unfamiliar city. On the other hand,by taking her father’s business, she can be in a position to carry on the family tradition and have authority to make meaningful decision much sooner.
